The neighbourhood of City Centre can be found in the city of Kelowna, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Kelowna metropolitan area.
Transportation
City Centre is a very pleasant part of Kelowna for bike riders. More specifically, the cycling infrastructure is good. City Centre is also a very pleasant part of Kelowna for pedestrians; many daily errands can be run without needing to get in a vehicle, and numerous businesses are fairly close by. Driving is a fairly good transportation option in City Centre. It is easy to park. In contrast, public transit riders may have limited choices in City Centre due to the low service level. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by about 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually very close by.
Services
Parents and their kids will welcome that wherever their house is located in City Centre, schools and daycares are close by. Parents benefit from public and private schools at both the primary and high school level. Regarding food, it is easy to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store by foot from any location in this neighbourhood. Furthermore, this part of Kelowna is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe.
Character
City Centre offers an extensive selection of green spaces to enjoy, despite its sometimes busy feel. Parks are easy to access since there are a few of them close by for residents to enjoy. This neighbourhood has many sections that are very calm and quiet, although other spots can be noisy, especially.
Housing
About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home whereas the rest are owners. Roughly two thirds of dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in this part of Kelowna, but large apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Around 45% of homes in this neighbourhood were built following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes.
