Aberdeen is especially car friendly. It is a reasonably short car ride to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from anywhere in this area, and coming across a parking spot is generally easy. However, the public transit service in Aberdeen is fairly poor. Nonetheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally very close. Travelling on foot is not very practical for property owners in Aberdeen since running daily errands is difficult.

A fraction of house buyers in Aberdeen may be able to shop for groceries on foot, while others will need another means of transportation. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate close by restaurants and cafes. In terms of education, parents and their children will value that wherever their house is situated in Aberdeen, daycares and primary schools are nearby. On the other hand, there are no high schools in this part of Kamloops.

Character

Aberdeen offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. It is easy to get to public green spaces since there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to visit. This neighbourhood is quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case near Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing most dwellings in Aberdeen, but small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the dwellings in Aberdeen while the rest are rented. Roughly one third of properties in this part of the city were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
