Transportation

Townsite is a fairly convenient part of Nanaimo for pedestrians; meeting daily needs is easy on foot. A good number of people in the area use their bike as the cycling network is well-developed. The public transit system in this neighbourhood is not very convenient. Nonetheless, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. On the other hand, moving around by car is easy in Townsite. It is convenient to park.

Services

Primary schools and daycares are very easy to reach on foot from any location in Townsite. On the other hand, there are no high schools in Townsite. At the primary level, there are both public and private schools. As far as eating is concerned, a grocery store is generally reachable within a short walk from most houses for sale in Townsite. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate close by restaurants and cafes.

Character

Townsite is a good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - however noise can be problematic near the railway line or the airport (Nanaimo (Regional General Hospital) Heliport). Finally, there are approximately 10 green spaces close by for residents to unwind in, like Bowen Park, and they are especially well-distributed, making it easy to get to them.
