Transportation

This neighbourhood enables property owners to get around using different modes of transportation. Maillardville is reasonably well-suited for those who travel by foot; many daily errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle. However, Maillardville is not very conducive to cycling as riding a bicycle is made strenuous by the typically sloping terrain. Thankfully, there are a fair number of bike lanes. The good public transit infrastructure allows people to get to many destinations without needing a vehicle. For example, residents are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually just around the corner. Commuting by car is also straightforward in this neighbourhood. It is easy to come across a parking spot, and it is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any location in this area.

In Maillardville, parents and their children will generally be able to get to schools and daycares by walking. With regards to food, a supermarket is usually reachable within a short walk from anywhere in this area.
