Lower Lonsdale is a neighbourhood within City of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Lower Lonsdale presents house buyers with several alternative modes of transportation. The fairly good public transit access allows people to get to many destinations without needing a car. For example, the neighbourhood is connected by approximately 10 bus lines, and it is especially convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most houses. Physically active property owners will also welcome the walk-friendly nature of this part of City of North Vancouver; many common errands can be run without the use of a car, and a variety of businesses are quite nearby. The bicycle is a good method of transportation in this part of the city as there are a fair number of bike lanes.

Services

Parents and their kids will appreciate that no matter where their house is situated in this area, schools and daycares are close by. With regards to eating, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away in this part of City of North Vancouver. In addition, there are a good number of options for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. It is also easy to reach a number of clothing stores on foot, for example on Lonsdale Avenue.

Character

The character of Lower Lonsdale is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. Green spaces are especially well-spread out and there are about 30 of them close by for residents to unwind in, making them very easy to access. This neighbourhood is also quiet, as the streets are usually reasonably calm - although that is not the case around the railway line.

Housing

About 40% of homes in Lower Lonsdale were built between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. In this neighbourhood, around 55% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, while large apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock.
