Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Lonsdale is a community within City of North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Lonsdale presents homeowners with several alternative means of transportation. This part of the city will appeal to people who want to reside in a compact community since it is very walkable; many common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Lonsdale will also draw physically active home buyers because it is fairly suited for cycling. More precisely, the bicycling network is rather comprehensive. With about 10 nearby bus lines, the public transit access in Lonsdale is reasonably good. Getting around by car is also easy in Lonsdale. It is a reasonably short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any home in this community.

Both general and specialty grocery stores are typically accessible within a short walk from any home in this part of City of North Vancouver. Furthermore, there are a fair number of choices for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. As far as education is concerned, schools and daycares are very easy to reach by foot from most houses for sale in this part of the city. Parents are served by public and private primary schools.

Character

The character of Lonsdale is exemplified by its calm ambience. Parks are especially well-distributed and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to visit, which makes them very easy to get to from the majority of locations in the community. This part of City of North Vancouver is also quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case close to Trans-Canada Highway or the railway line.

Housing
