The neighbourhood of Metrotown-Central Park is part of the city of Burnaby, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area presents property owners with several alternative modes of transportation. This area is a very pleasant part of Burnaby for getting around by public transit. Rapid transit stations, including Patterson Station @ Platform 1, Metrotown Station @ Platform 1 and Metrotown Station @ Platform 2 with access to the Expo Line, are not very far away from the majority of properties in the neighbourhood. There are about 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are generally very close by. Property owners who want to live in an area that's walkable will also be pleased with the very pedestrian-friendly character of Metrotown-Central Park; carrying out daily needs is convenient without a car, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. This neighbourhood is fairly amenable to cycling since the bicycling infrastructure is good.

Services

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short distance away in Metrotown-Central Park. Likewise, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner, for example along Kingsway. Concerning education, families will welcome that wherever their house is located in Metrotown-Central Park, daycares and schools are nearby. Parents have the choice between public and private elementary schools.

Character

Metrotown-Central Park offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy, despite its sometimes busy feel. Green spaces, including Bonsor Park and Central Park, are very well-situated and there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover, making it very easy to get to them. Quiet areas can be found throughout much of the neighbourhood, although that is not the case around the railway line.

Housing

The majority of dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Metrotown-Central Park, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Roughly one third of properties in this part of the city were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. The population residing in this area is evenly split between owners and renters.
