UDistrict is a neighbourhood within Abbotsford, British Columbia, which is located in the Abbotsford - Mission metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is especially car friendly. It is convenient to park, and nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are very easy to reach from anywhere in UDistrict. In contrast, commuting by public transit is challenging in UDistrict. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and the closest bus stop is usually very close. Commuting by bicycle is at times challenging in UDistrict since there are quite a few elevation changes, and the cycling infrastructure is sometimes poor. Nevertheless, a fair number of families choose to move around by bicycle. Walking is also not very common in UDistrict, even though carrying out daily needs is easy.

Services

Families will value the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within walking distance from most, if not all, properties for sale in UDistrict. Parents are served by public and private primary schools. With regards to food, a fraction of house buyers in UDistrict may be able to purchase their groceries on foot, while others will have to rely on another means of transportation. However, a coffee shop is commonly just around the corner, and residents of this neighbourhood benefit from a few restaurants as well. It is also easy to access a variety of clothing stores on foot.

Character

The character of UDistrict is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. This area is quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case close to Trans-Canada Highway. Lastly, access to parks is easy from a large number of locations in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out.

Housing

In UDistrict, about half of buildings are small apartment buildings, but duplexes and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. Around 30% of properties in this part of the city were built between 1990 and 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the remainder are renters.
