Transportation

The car is very often the preferred method to get around in Bradner-Mt. Lehman. It is very convenient to find a place to park. On the other hand, Bradner-Mt. Lehman is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines. It is difficult for people travelling on foot to get around in this area as meeting daily needs is impractical by walking. Bradner-Mt. Lehman is also not very amenable to bicycling because the terrain is not very flat, and there are few bike lanes.

Services

High schools and primary schools are not particularly numerous in this neighbourhood, and therefore not always within walking distance. Likewise, parents and their schoolchildren may consider it difficult to get to daycares on foot. Parents are served by public and private elementary schools. In terms of eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is required in this area to access the nearest supermarket. Residents of this part of Abbotsford benefit from a few restaurants as well.

Character

Bradner-Mt. Lehman offers a relaxed environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. The noise levels in this area are low, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case close to one of the railway lines or Trans-Canada Highway. Lastly, it is easy to access public green spaces in the neighbourhood, since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to check out, like Glen Valley Slopes and Heritage Landing Park.

Housing

About one third of properties in Bradner-Mt. Lehman were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. Homeowners occupy roughly 70% of the dwellings in Bradner-Mt. Lehman while the remainder are rented. This part of Abbotsford also has a selection of housing sizes; notably, this neighbourhood is good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes.
