Sherwood Hills is a neighbourhood within Strathcona County, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a very good means of transportation in Sherwood Hills. It is very easy to park. However, this area is not an especially pleasant part of Strathcona County for moving around by public transit. Biking is convenient in this area because there are a good number of bike lanes, and the terrain is quite flat. It is difficult for pedestrians to move around in this neighbourhood because few daily needs can be carried out without the use of a car.

Services

House buyers in Sherwood Hills often have to rely on a vehicle to shop for groceries. Nonetheless, getting to the nearest pharmacy and accordingly some staple foods is generally easy. A limited variety of restaurants can be found in this area as well. When it comes to education, it is a rather short walk to get to both primary and secondary schools from any location in this part of the municipality. On the other hand, parents and their children may find it very difficult to access daycares on foot.

Character

Sherwood Hills is reasonably quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Housing

The buildings in this neighbourhood are very modern, because around half of its buildings were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. In this part of Strathcona County, the overwhelming majority of buildings are single detached homes, while townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Homeowners occupy nearly all of the dwellings in Sherwood Hills and the remainder are rented. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this part of the municipality.
