Sherwood Hills is a neighbourhood within Strathcona County, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is very car friendly. It is very convenient to find a parking spot. However, residents using public transit may find few options in this part of Strathcona County by reason of the low service level. This neighbourhood is rather bicycling-friendly because there are a good number of bike lanes. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of the municipality are located in areas that are not very well-suited for pedestrians as few daily errands can be run without a car.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are easy to access without needing to get in a car from any location in this neighbourhood. However, there are only a very small number of daycares and therefore they can be a very long trip away. As far as food is concerned, a supermarket is typically reachable within a reasonably short walk from any location in Sherwood Hills.

Character

The character of Sherwood Hills is exemplified by its calm environment. Sherwood Hills is fairly good for those who need quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

Roughly all of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. The predominant housing types in this part of the municipality are single detached homes and townhouses. The homes in this neighbourhood are very modern, since roughly half of its dwellings were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this part of the municipality.
