The neighbourhood of Sherwood can be found in the city of Calgary, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

The best method to move around in this neighbourhood is very often a car. It is a short drive to the closest highway from anywhere in this part of Calgary, and it is convenient to park. However, travelling by public transit is challenging in Sherwood. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close by. Getting around as a pedestrian is not very feasible for property owners in Sherwood because most daily needs are difficult to meet without a car. However, the bike is a reasonably good means of transportation in Sherwood since the bicycling network is fairly comprehensive.

Services

It is a reasonably short distance to access both primary and secondary schools from anywhere in this area. In contrast, parents and their children may find it very hard to reach daycares without the need to get in a car. When it comes to food, some, but not all, home buyers in this area will reside within a short distance of the nearest supermarket. A small number of restaurants and cafes are available as well.

Character

Sherwood is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. Most areas in this part of Calgary are very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. In this neighbourhood, roughly two thirds of dwellings are single detached homes, but large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
