Part of the Greater Calgary metropolitan area, Tuscany is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in Tuscany. Nearby highways are quite easy to drive to from any location in Tuscany, and finding a parking spot is easy. However, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, commuters can rely on Tuscany Station on the Red Line - Somerset - Bridlewood/Tuscany CTrain. There are about 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. This part of Calgary is reasonably appropriate for bicycling because there are a fair number of bike lanes. A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are not very convenient for walking because many daily needs are challenging to meet without the use of a vehicle.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to get to both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in Tuscany. However, families may find it difficult to reach daycares as a pedestrian. In terms of food, accessing the nearest grocery store on foot is feasible for some, but not all, property owners in this part of Calgary. There are also a few opportunities for those who value close by restaurants and cafes.

Character

The character of Tuscany is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. This area is very quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, access to public green spaces is very easy in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to unwind in.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing the overwhelming majority of buildings in Tuscany, while the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. The vast majority of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1990s. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 175% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder.
