The neighbourhood of Scenic Acres is part of the city of Calgary, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

The favoured transportation option in Scenic Acres is usually driving. It is very convenient to find a place to park, and most homes for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway. However, commuting by public transit is sometimes challenging in Scenic Acres. Thankfully, rapid transit stations, such as Crowfoot Station on the Red Line - Somerset - Bridlewood/Tuscany CTrain, are commonly within walking distance from the majority of houses in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is connected by about 10 bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Commuting by bicycle is convenient in this area as the cycling infrastructure is fairly good. Walking is not particularly convenient for home buyers in this part of Calgary as most daily needs are at times challenging to meet without needing to use a car.

Services

Lastly, there are about 30 parks close by for residents to visit and they are very well-distributed, making it very easy to get to them from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Scenic Acres is an important part of its character. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. Most of the housing growth in this part of Calgary happened between 1990 and 2000.
