The neighbourhood of Evanston is part of the city of Calgary, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent mode of transportation in this neighbourhood. Nearby highways are reasonably easy to reach from any location in Evanston, and it is convenient to find a place to park. On the other hand, the public transit service in Evanston is fairly poor. Thankfully, residents have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most properties. Evanston is appropriate for cycling as there are a good number of bike lanes. Travelling on foot is not very practical for residents in this part of Calgary because very few common errands can be run without having to use a vehicle.

Services

The nearest grocery store in this part of Calgary is generally only a reasonably short walk away. Residents benefit from approximately 20 restaurants and coffee shops as well. In terms of education, both primary and secondary schools are easy to walk to from any location in Evanston. In contrast, parents and their kids may find it difficult to get to daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

Evanston is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. This part of Calgary is very quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic.
