Whitehorse wasn't Yukon's capital till 1953. Before that, the province's capital city was Dawson City.
Yukon features the smallest desert in the world, Carcross Desert. It measures 1 square mile, or 2.6 square kilometers.
Every year Whitehorse hosts the Adäka Cultural Festival, celebrating the arts and culture of First Nations people.
Famous actor Victor Jory, most known for his villainous roles in the 1930's films The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Gone With the Wind, was originally from Dawson City, Yukon.
The Kluane National Park Reserve is home to Canada's tallest mountain, Mt Logan. The mountain features peaks of over 5,000 meters in height.
