Aspen Ridge

Aspen Ridge is a neighbourhood within Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, which is situated in the Greater Saskatoon metropolitan area.

Transportation

Getting around by car is very easy in this area. Parking is easy. In contrast, Aspen Ridge is not an especially pleasant part of Saskatoon for getting around by public transit. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. Despite the fact that the terrain is flat, the bicycle is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in this area as the cycling network is not very comprehensive. Aspen Ridge is also not very convenient for pedestrians because very few common errands can be run without a vehicle.

Services

This area does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Additionally, there are only a very small number of daycares and thus they can be a very long trip away. With regards to eating, it is very rarely possible for property owners in this part of the city to access the nearest grocery store as pedestrians.

Character

Aspen Ridge is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. This area is very quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, although this neighbourhood does not contain any parks, green spaces are badly-situated in nearby neighbourhoods, which makes them easy to reach.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about two thirds of buildings in Aspen Ridge, and the remaining dwellings are mainly duplexes. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around two thirds of the dwellings in the neighbourhood and one third are rented. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood has taken place following the year 2000.
