Beauport

Beauport is a borough within Québec, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a very good transportation option in this part of the city. It is a reasonably short car ride to the closest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, from any home in this area, and parking is generally easy. On the other hand, commuting by transit can be challenging in Beauport due to the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, residents have access to around 40 bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses. Cycling is at times difficult in Beauport as there are quite a few elevation changes, and the cycling infrastructure is not especially well-developed. Travelling by foot in this part of Québec is also not very popular, despite the fact that meeting daily needs is easy.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are convenient to walk to from most homes for sale in Beauport. On the other hand, it can be challenging to access high schools on foot. Parents are served by public and private schools at both the primary and high school level. As far as food is concerned, accessing one of around 10 grocery stores by walking is feasible for some, but not all, house buyers in Beauport. There are also a few opportunities for those who care about restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

Character

The character of Beauport is exemplified by its calm ambience. Green spaces, including Parc Saint-David and Centre de Plein Air de Beauport, are very well-spread out and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to discover, which makes it easy to get to them. This part of the city is quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to the airport (Héliport de Beauport (HQ)), one of the railway lines, Autoroute Félix-Leclerc or Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency.

Housing

Homeowners occupy roughly 60% of the units in the borough and 40% are rented. Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing roughly 45% of dwellings in this borough, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. About 30% of properties in this part of Québec were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This borough has a good variety of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
