Cars are a great transportation option in Val-Bélair. It is straightforward to access a place to park, and the majority of homes for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Henri-IV. On the other hand, public transit users may find few choices in Val-Bélair due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, homeowners are served by around 10 bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. This part of Québec is not very suitable for those who travel by foot because meeting daily needs is challenging without a car. It is also at times challenging to commute by bicycle in Val-Bélair since riding is rendered difficult by the typically sloping area, and the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive.

Services

It is a reasonably short stroll to access primary schools and daycares from most properties for sale in Val-Bélair. In contrast, high schools are not particularly numerous and accordingly not always within a short distance. Regarding eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed to shop for groceries. Nevertheless, it is generally a rather short walk to the closest pharmacy, which can supply some staple foods. There are also a few choices for those who value close by restaurants.

Character

The character of Val-Bélair is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. This neighbourhood is especially quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Finally, there are about 20 parks nearby for residents to visit, including Parc de la Belle-Eau and Base de Plein Air la Découverte, which makes it easy to access them.

Housing

In Val-Bélair, the majority of buildings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood and one quarter are rented. The homes in this part of Québec are relatively new, because roughly one third of its dwellings were built following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
