The neighbourhood of Centre-Sud can be found in the city of Montréal, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Centre-Sud will appeal to house buyers that use different means of transportation. Centre-Sud features excellent transit service. Rapid transit stations, including Frontenac Station, Papineau Station and Station Berri-UQAM 2 with access to the Ligne 4 - Jaune, Ligne 2 - Orange and Ligne 1 - Verte, are generally around the corner from the greater part of residences in the neighbourhood. Property owners benefit from about 30 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Centre-Sud is also an extraordinarily pleasant part of Montréal for pedestrians; all daily needs can be carried out without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are moderately close by. Many residents in the area use their bicycle as cyclists do not encounter significant hills, there is generally a bike-share station nearby, and Centre-Sud boasts fairly good cycling infrastructure.

Services

It is a short walk to reach schools and daycares from most houses for sale in Centre-Sud. Residents benefit from public and private high schools. Concerning food, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short stroll away in this neighbourhood. Rue Sainte-Catherine is among the best streets for food stores. Moreover, there are over 50 restaurants and a few cafes to enjoy in Centre-Sud.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Centre-Sud is a reasonably good option. It is very easy to find energetic streets in this area. There are many nearby entertainment venues, the streets are usually busy with people, and finding one of the around 30 bars is very easy because they are generally located around the corner. Rue Saint-Denis in particular offers a wide variety of nightlife. Centre-Sud is reasonably quiet overall, as the streets are calm, however noise can be bothersome closer to Autoroute Ville-Marie or one of the railway lines. There is a good amount of greenery in this area; there are over 50 green spaces nearby for residents to relax in, including Parc des Faubourgs, and they are especially well-spread out, making them very easy to access. Residents will also find that the tree canopy coverage for most streets is reasonably good.

Housing

The large percentage of small apartment buildings in the housing stock of Centre-Sud is an important part of its character. About 40% of properties in this area were built pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes. Around three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home and owners make up the remainder.
