Transportation

This part of Mont-Royal will appeal to house buyers that appreciate several means of transportation. This area is reasonably transit friendly. More specifically, there is Acadie Station with access to the Ligne 5 - Bleue. There are approximately 10 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Most homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are also reasonably convenient for walking; most daily needs are easy to carry out on foot, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. A fair number of residents in the area use their bike as riding is made easier by the generally flat terrain.

Services

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away in Connaught Park. In addition, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a good number of opportunities, for instance along Rue de Liège, and home buyers are served by a few cafes as well. Regarding education, in Connaught Park, families will typically be able to get to schools and daycares by walking.

Character

Connaught Park is a good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm environment. This part of Mont-Royal is quiet overall, as the streets tend to be peaceful - however noise can be problematic around one of the railway lines or Autoroute Décarie. Lastly, there is a fair amount of greenery in this area; there are about 20 green spaces nearby for residents to relax in, such as Park Fleming and Parc Danyluk, and they are especially well-situated, resulting in them being very easy to reach from a large number of locations in the neighbourhood. In addition, residents will find that many tree-lined streets are around.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing about one third of dwellings in Connaught Park, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant building boom pre-1960, so most of the available properties are from this era. This part of Mont-Royal also has a good variety of housing size options; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
