Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Duvernay is a neighbourhood within Laval, Quebec.

Transportation

Driving is very often the preferred method to move around in Duvernay. It is especially convenient to access a parking spot, and most houses for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Papineau. However, the public transit service in Duvernay is somewhat poor. Nevertheless, there are about 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and the closest bus stop is usually just around the corner. It is inconvenient for pedestrians to move around in Duvernay since running common errands is sometimes difficult by walking.

Services

Reaching the nearest grocery store on foot is an option for some, but not all, property owners in Duvernay. Residents are served by around 30 restaurants and coffee shops as well. In terms of education, high schools and primary schools are not very abundant in this part of the city, and therefore not always within walking distance. Likewise, parents may consider it difficult for their children to get to daycares on foot.

Character

Duvernay is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Greenery is not particularly prominent in this part of the city; to be more precise, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is sub-par. However, there are around 40 parks close by for residents to relax in, which makes them easy to reach. This part of Laval is quiet overall, as the streets are generally quite calm - however noise can be an issue near the railway line, Autoroute 25 or Autoroute Papineau.
