Brompton

The borough of Brompton can be found in the city of Sherbrooke, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Sherbrooke metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of Sherbrooke is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to access a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Autoroute Joseph-Armand-Bombardier, are easy to access from anywhere in Brompton. In contrast, the public transit service in this part of Sherbrooke is not very frequent. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the borough, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. Brompton is not especially bicycling-friendly since there are quite a few slopes, and there are few bike lanes. Thankfully, riding a bike is better in certain pockets than others. Walking is also not very practical for home buyers in this borough because most daily needs are difficult to meet without having to use a vehicle.

Services

Parents and their kids will value that no matter where their property is situated in this part of the city, both primary and secondary schools are close by. In contrast, families may find it very difficult to access daycares as a pedestrian. In terms of eating, in all cases, a car is required in Brompton to reach the nearest grocery store. Nevertheless, pharmacies are typically convenient to access on foot and sell some basic food items. There are also a few opportunities for those who care about restaurants in close proximity.

Character

Brompton offers a slower-paced atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. The noise levels in this borough are very low, as the streets are usually very peaceful - although that is not the case near Autoroute Louis-Bilodeau, Autoroute Joseph-Armand-Bombardier or the railway line. Finally, it is easy to get to green spaces, since there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in and the majority of homes for sale have a park nearby.

Housing

In Brompton, many buildings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city did not experience a single construction boom; the construction of new dwellings in Brompton was spread throughout multiple decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century. This borough offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 70% of the dwellings in the borough are occupied by homeowners and 30% are rented.
