The neighbourhood of Cap-Rouge is part of the city of Québec, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is especially car friendly. The majority of homes for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, and it is especially convenient to find a place to park. In contrast, the public transit service in this part of Québec is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there are about 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is typically just around the corner. It is convenient to commute by bicycle in this part of the city. It is impractical for pedestrians to navigate this area because few daily needs can be met by walking.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are easy to get to on foot from most houses for sale in Cap-Rouge. However, high schools are not plentiful and consequently not always within walking distance. Regarding eating, in all cases, a vehicle is required in Cap-Rouge to reach the closest grocery store. Nonetheless, pharmacies are generally convenient to access on foot and supply some basic food items. A small selection of restaurants is available in Cap-Rouge as well.

Character

Cap-Rouge is a great neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. This part of the city is excellent for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are generally very tranquil. Lastly, most locations within the neighbourhood have reasonably good access to parks, such as Parc de la Chaudière and Boisé de Marly, since there are over 50 of them close by for residents to enjoy.

In Cap-Rouge, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, and the remaining homes are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 85% of the units in the neighbourhood and 15% are rented. About one third of homes in this neighbourhood were built between 1980 and 1990, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s.
