Snowdon

Snowdon is a neighbourhood in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, which is located within the province of Quebec, Canada.

Transportation

Snowdon will appeal to house buyers that value a diversity of modes of transportation. The public transit network in this area is very good. It is convenient to reach a nearby rapid transit station, such as Côte-Sainte-Catherine Station, Station Snowdon 5 and Station Snowdon 2 on the 2 | Ligne 2 - Orange and 5 | Ligne 5 - Bleue, from the greater part of houses in the neighbourhood. There are approximately 10 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. It is also easy for people travelling on foot to navigate Snowdon; many common errands can be run without the use of a car, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. It is convenient to move around by bike in this part of the city.

Services

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away in this neighbourhood. Moreover, those who enjoy eating in restaurants or cafes will have a fair number of opportunities in Snowdon, for example along Avenue Victoria. A decent selection of clothing stores is also situated within a reasonably short walking distance. With respect to education, schools and daycares are very easy to reach on foot from most properties for sale in this area.

Character

The character of Snowdon is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. This part of the city features a fair amount of greenery as numerous tree-lined streets are around. Parks, such as Parc MacKenzie-King, are very well-distributed and there are about 20 of them close by for residents to unwind in, which results in them being easy to reach from numerous locations within Snowdon. This area is also reasonably quiet, as the streets are quite peaceful - however noise can be problematic close to the railway line or Autoroute Décarie.

Housing

In Snowdon, about 45% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, while large apartment buildings, duplexes, and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This part of Montréal has a good choice of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
