Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Sector C is a neighbourhood within Brossard, Quebec.

Transportation

The best method to navigate this neighbourhood is very often a car. It is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Autoroute de l'Acier, from any home in this neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to come across a place to park. In contrast, this area is not especially transit friendly. Thankfully, commuters can depend on Du Quartier on the REM A | Gare Centrale - Brossard. The neighbourhood is connected by about 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually very close. Walking in this part of the city is not very popular, although many daily errands can be run without having to use a vehicle. Bicycling is also sometimes difficult in sector C as. Nonetheless, a few bicycling-friendly sectors can be found, there are a limited number of hills, and the cycling network is reasonably well-developed.

Services

A portion of residents in this part of the city may be able to purchase their groceries by walking, while others will have to turn to another means of transportation. There are also a few restaurants and coffee shops in sector C. In terms of education, parents and their kids will welcome that no matter where their home is located in this part of Brossard, daycares are close by. However, there are only a few primary schools in this neighbourhood and thus they can be an extended walk away. Furthermore, sector C does not have any high schools.

Character

The character of sector C is exemplified by its calm environment. The greenery in this part of the city is not very prominent; although, green spaces are easy to access, since reaching the closest one is very easy from a lot of houses and there are about 10 parks close by for residents to visit. This area is reasonably quiet overall, as the streets tend to be quite peaceful - however noise can be bothersome around Autoroute des Cantons-de-l'Est or Autoroute de l'Acier.

Housing

Small apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing many buildings in sector C, while the rest are mainly single detached homes and townhouses. This neighbourhood has a good choice of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented. This part of Brossard experienced its biggest building boom after the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this time period.
