Transportation

Saint-Louis is an excellent part of the city with respect to travelling without driving. This area is an extremely convenient part of Montréal for pedestrians; all day-to-day needs can be carried out without the use of a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are very nearby. Active property owners will also be pleased with the especially bicycling-friendly character of this neighbourhood. More specifically, a bike share station is always located in close proximity, and this part of Montréal features a very good cycling infrastructure. Owing to around 10 nearby bus lines, the public transit service in this area is great. However, cars are a rather limited medium of transportation in Saint-Louis. Nonetheless, nearby highways are easy to reach from any location in this part of the city.

Services

It is very easy to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from anywhere in Saint-Louis. Rue Prince-Arthur is among the best streets for groceries. Furthermore, with 50-odd restaurants and cafes in Saint-Louis, there is generally a place to get a meal or beverage just around the corner. It is also a very short distance to an excellent selection of clothing stores, for example along Boulevard Saint-Laurent. As far as education is concerned, daycares and schools are especially convenient to access on foot from most properties for sale in this neighbourhood.

Character

Saint-Louis is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this area. Saint-Louis is reasonably quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. There is a fair amount of greenery in this part of Montréal; public green spaces, including Parc Jeanne-Mance and Parc du Mont-Royal, are especially well-situated and there are about 10 of them close by for residents to relax in, making them very easy to reach. Residents will also find that many tree-lined streets are present. Finally, there are a very large number of lively parts in this neighbourhood for those looking for a dynamic vibe. There is a vast selection of entertainment venues, the streets are usually busy with people, and places to go out at night are well-spread throughout the neighbourhood.
