Transportation

Saint-Léonard presents house buyers with several alternative means of transportation. This area is rather transit friendly. Property owners can depend on the Gare Saint-Léonard-Montréal-Nord and Gare Saint-Michel-Montréal-Nord on the 15 - Mascouche. There are around 20 bus lines crossing the borough, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. Getting around as a pedestrian is also rather practical for residents in Saint-Léonard; running daily errands is easy without needing to resort to a car, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Saint-Léonard is suited for cycling since bicycling is facilitated by the generally flat terrain.

Services

Regarding food, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short stroll away in this part of the city. Moreover, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a good number of choices, and property owners benefit from a few cafes as well.

Character

Saint-Léonard is an excellent borough to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Greenery is present in this borough as most streets have fairly good tree coverage. Accessing green spaces, including Parc Hébert and Parc Pie-XII, is easy from many locations in the borough since there are approximately 30 of them close by for residents to unwind in. This area is also great for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

About two thirds of the population of this borough rent their home while the remainder are owners. The predominance of small apartment buildings in the housing stock of this part of Montréal is an important part of its character.
