Saint-Hubert

The borough of Saint-Hubert can be found in the city of Longueuil, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Commuting by bicycle is convenient in this borough as the cycling network is reasonably good, and there are few hills to confront bicycle riders. Saint-Hubert will also attract house buyers who appreciate walkability since it is moderately suitable for walking; running common errands is convenient without needing a car. Driving is a very good medium of transportation in this area. It is convenient to come across a place to park, and the majority of properties for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Autoroute de l'Acier. However, commuting by transit can be sometimes difficult in Saint-Hubert due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, there is the Gare Longueuil-Saint-Hubert with access to the 13 - Mont-Saint-Hilaire. There are over 50 bus lines traversing the borough, and most residences are very close to a bus stop.

Services

Property owners in this part of the city will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a rather short stroll away. A limited selection of restaurants and cafes is available as well. In terms of education, it is a reasonably short trip to get to schools and daycares from any location in this part of the city. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.

Character

Saint-Hubert offers a calm environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. There is not that much greenery in this part of Longueuil; to be more precise, residents will find that most streets have below average tree coverage. Nonetheless, there are over 50 parks nearby for residents to check out, including Parc de la Cité, and they are very well-located, making it easy to get to them. Most areas in this part of Longueuil are reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although there are still several noisier sections, especially close to one of the 2 airports (Héliport de St-Hubert,Aéroport de St-Hubert), the railway line or Autoroute de l'Acier.

Housing

In Saint-Hubert, about half of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. This borough also has a good selection of housing sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy about 70% of the units in the borough whereas the remainder are rented. About one third of homes in this area were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 2000s.
