Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in this neighbourhood. Parking is quite easy, and the majority of homes for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir. On the other hand, the public transit service in this part of Dorval is not especially frequent. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. Many of the houses for sale in this part of Dorval are located in places that are not very well-suited for those who travel by foot as common amenities such as hair salons or banks can be an occasionally long walk away. Although some pleasant sectors for bicycling can be found, and cyclists do not face serious slopes, Pointe Valois is also not especially cycling-friendly because this area is home to a somewhat poor cycling infrastructure.

Services

Primary schools are convenient to access on foot from most properties for sale in Pointe Valois. However, there are no high schools in Pointe Valois. As far as eating is concerned, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed to do groceries. Nevertheless, pharmacies are generally convenient to access on foot and sell some staple foods. There are also a few restaurants in Pointe Valois.

Character

Pointe Valois offers a slower-paced atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This neighbourhood features a fair amount of greenery; there are a few green spaces close by for residents to check out and they are especially well-situated, which makes them easy to get to. In addition, residents will find that there are numerous tree-lined streets. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially around Autoroute du Souvenir or one of the railway lines.

Housing

Roughly 95% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. Single detached homes and row houses are the predominant housing type in this neighbourhood. This part of the city experienced its most significant construction boom pre-1960, so most of the available properties are from this era. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
