Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Pointe Allan is a neighbourhood within Dorval, Quebec.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent medium of transportation in Pointe Allan. Most real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir, and it is easy to park. On the other hand, the public transit network in Pointe Allan is somewhat poor. Nevertheless, there is the Gare Pine Beach with access to the 11 - Vaudreuil/Hudson. There are around 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are not very convenient for walking as day-to-day errands are occasionally difficult to run on foot. However, Pointe Allan is quite bicycling-friendly since there are a limited number of hills.

Services

Home buyers in this part of the city usually have to rely on a car to access the closest grocery store. Nonetheless, pharmacies are typically convenient to reach on foot and sell some staple foods. There are also a few options for those who appreciate restaurants in close proximity. In terms of education, it is a short walk to reach both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in Pointe Allan. In contrast, daycares are not particularly abundant and consequently not always within walking distance.

Character

There is a broad selection of green spaces in Pointe Allan. To be more precise, it is easy to reach green spaces from many locations within the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to check out. As there are few people out and about on the streets, this neighbourhood remains relatively quiet; however there can be more noise for those who are near Autoroute du Souvenir or the railway line.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing about two thirds of dwellings in Pointe Allan, whereas the rest are mainly small apartment buildings.
