Eastern Junction

Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Eastern Junction is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec.

Transportation

Eastern Junction will attract property owners that appreciate various means of transportation. The public transit system in this part of Montréal is reasonably practical owing to Gare Ahuntsic on the 15 - Mascouche, and about 10 nearby bus lines. Walking is also feasible for property owners in Eastern Junction; running day-to-day errands is easy, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Even though certain bike-friendly areas exist, and there are a limited number of elevation changes, commuting by bicycle is challenging in this part of the city as the bicycling network is somewhat poor.

Services

Schools and daycares are convenient to get to on foot from anywhere in Eastern Junction. In terms of eating, both general and specialty grocery stores are typically accessible within a rather short walk from most properties for sale in this area. There are also a few options for those who value nearby restaurants and cafes.

Character

Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Eastern Junction. More specifically, getting to public green spaces is very easy in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit. At the same time, the tree canopy coverage for most streets is fairly bad. Finally, this part of the city is a very good area for those who don't mind some noise, as traffic during busy hours can occasionally be bothersome, although there are still several quieter sections.

Housing

The predominance of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of Eastern Junction is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 55% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters and owners occupy the remainder. This neighbourhood experienced its main building boom after the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era.
