Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Connaught Park is a neighbourhood within Mont-Royal, Quebec.

Transportation

No matter the means of transportation, it is reasonably straightforward to move around in this part of the city. Owing to Acadie Station with access to the Ligne 5 - Bleue, and about 10 nearby bus lines, the public transit network in this neighbourhood is reasonably good. Connaught Park is also suitable for walking; many common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Connaught Park is a fairly pleasant part of Mont-Royal for cyclists. For example, there are a limited number of elevation changes.

Services

Parents and their kids will welcome that no matter where their home is situated in this neighbourhood, schools and daycares are close by. With respect to food, both general and specialty grocery stores are usually accessible within a reasonably short walk from most properties for sale in Connaught Park. Likewise, this neighbourhood is a good place in which to go out to eat, and a small selection of coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

The character of Connaught Park is exemplified by its calm atmosphere. This neighbourhood is quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case close to Autoroute Décarie or one of the railway lines. Lastly, there is a fair amount of greenery in this part of Mont-Royal; green spaces, including Park Fleming and Parc Danyluk, are especially well-spread out and there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to visit, which results in them being very easy to reach from the majority of locations within this area. Residents will also find that numerous streets have good tree coverage.

Housing

In Connaught Park, about one third of buildings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses. This neighbourhood has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder. Most housing in this neighbourhood was constructed before the 1960s, during its largest building boom.
