Cap-Saint-Jacques is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Travelling by car is very convenient in this part of Montréal. It is very easy to park. In contrast, the public transit system in this part of the city is quite bad. Nonetheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Cap-Saint-Jacques is very suited for biking. On the other hand, this area is not very convenient for those who travel by foot since carrying out daily needs is very difficult without the use of a car.

Services

Doing one's groceries very often requires the use of a vehicle in this part of Montréal. In terms of education, parents and their kids will welcome that no matter where their house is located in Cap-Saint-Jacques, both primary and secondary schools are close by. However, daycares are not abundant and thus not always within walking distance.

Character

The character of Cap-Saint-Jacques is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. Greenery is very present in this neighbourhood as many tree-lined streets are around. Most locations in the neighbourhood have fairly good access to green spaces, including Parc-Nature de l'Anse-à-l'Orme and Parc-Nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques, since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover. This part of the city is very quiet overall, as the streets are especially peaceful.
