Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Steeles West Industrial is a neighbourhood within Vaughan, Ontario.

Transportation

Getting around by public transit is convenient in Steeles West Industrial as a result of about 10 nearby bus lines. However, commuting by bicycle is challenging in Steeles West Industrial because the cycling network is not very well-developed. Nonetheless, certain bike-friendly sectors exist, and there are a limited number of slopes for cyclists to brave. Walking in this neighbourhood is not very common, although most daily needs are easy to meet by walking. In contrast, Steeles West Industrial is very car friendly. Most of the street network is conducive to cars, and it is a very short drive to the closest highway, such as Highway 400, from any location in this neighbourhood.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of Vaughan. In addition, families may consider it difficult to access daycares on foot. In terms of food, some, but not all, property owners in this part of Vaughan will live within walking distance of the closest supermarket. There are also around 20 restaurants and coffee shops in Steeles West Industrial.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Steeles West Industrial. To be more specific, although the neighbourhood is not home to any green spaces, parks are very well-spread out in nearby neighbourhoods, making it easy to access them. At the same time, the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is quite bad. This neighbourhood can be relatively noisy, as traffic can occasionally be loud during rush hour.

Housing

In Steeles West Industrial, about half of buildings are single detached homes, but large apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. About one third of properties in this part of the city were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
