York Mills

The neighbourhood of York Mills is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

No matter the medium of transportation, it is rather convenient to travel in York Mills. Owing to Oriole on the Richmond Hill, and a few nearby bus lines, York Mills is fairly transit friendly. It is also easy for people travelling by foot to get around in this neighbourhood; many common errands can be run without a car, and numerous businesses are close at hand. Despite the fact that bicycling is better in certain pockets than others, this part of the city is not very suited for cycling as the cycling network is not very comprehensive, and the terrain is not particularly flat.

Services

It is convenient to access the nearest grocery store without a vehicle in York Mills. Moreover, this part of Toronto is a good place in which to eat out, and a limited selection of cafes can be found as well. When it comes to education, families will welcome that wherever their home is located in York Mills, schools and daycares are close by.

Character

York Mills offers a vast selection of green spaces to enjoy, as well as some areas with a vibrant atmosphere. To be more precise, there are approximately 20 parks close by for residents to unwind in, such as St. Andrews Park - North York and Vyner Greenbelt, and they are especially well-situated, making them very easy to access. In this area, many dwellings are single detached homes, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. A majority of the housing growth in this area happened between 1960 and 1980. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
