The neighbourhood of Rouge River is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

The best method to get around in this area is very often a car. It is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, this area is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood. Many of the houses for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are not very suitable for pedestrians because common amenities such as banks or liquor stores can be a rather long distance away. In contrast, Rouge River is reasonably bike-friendly.

Services

Rouge River does not have any high schools or primary schools. Likewise, daycares are not very abundant and accordingly not always within walking distance. As far as eating is concerned, accessing the closest grocery store by foot is possible for some, but not all, home buyers in this area.

Character

People who prefer a calm ambience will enjoy Rouge River. Greenery is very present in this part of the city as the tree canopy coverage for most streets is very good. There are a few parks close by for residents to unwind in, which makes it very easy to access them from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood. This part of Toronto is quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

Around 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. In this neighbourhood, roughly 15% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the dwellings are mainly duplexes. This area experienced its largest construction boom between 1990 and 2000, so most of the available housing stock is from this era. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
