The neighbourhood of Humberwood is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Humberwood provides house buyers with the choice between different modes of transportation. The favoured way to get around in Humberwood is usually a car. It is convenient to park, and the majority of properties for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 427. This area is also reasonably transit friendly due to a few nearby bus lines. Humberwood is quite suited for bicycling. Walking is not particularly practical for property owners in Humberwood since running daily errands is at times difficult.

Services

In Humberwood, families will commonly be able to get to daycares and primary schools by walking. However, Humberwood does not have any high schools. With respect to food, some, but not all, home buyers in this area will live within walking distance of the closest supermarket. Residents are served by a few restaurants and cafes as well.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Humberwood. To be more specific, reaching green spaces, like Humberwood Park and Humber Arboretum, is very easy from numerous locations within the neighbourhood since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to explore. However, there are few tree-lined streets. This area is relatively quiet, as there are few pedestrians, although noise levels are higher closer to Highway 427.

Housing

Large apartment buildings are the main housing type, representing about half of dwellings in Humberwood, but duplexes and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This part of Toronto has a good variety of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the remainder are renters. The homes in this part of the city are very new, since about 45% of its dwellings were constructed after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s.
