Downtown Yonge East is a great part of Toronto with respect to travelling without driving. Owing to a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations on the Line 1 (Yonge-University), and approximately 10 nearby bus lines, Downtown Yonge East is home to an excellent public transit infrastructure. Physically active house buyers will also appreciate the very walk-friendly nature of Downtown Yonge East; running daily errands is very easy by walking, and a very large number of businesses of different types can be found as well. This area is a very pleasant part of Toronto for cyclists. More precisely, bike-share stations are rarely more than a short distance away, and the cycling network is reasonably extensive.

It is a very short walk to get to daycares and schools from most homes for sale in this part of Toronto. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools.
