Rosslyn

Rosslyn is a neighbourhood within Thunder Bay, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Thunder Bay metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is usually the favoured approach to navigate this part of Thunder Bay. It is very convenient to come across a parking spot, and nearby highways are very easy to reach from any location in Rosslyn. However, Rosslyn is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally just around the corner. Rosslyn is not especially bike-friendly as the cycling infrastructure is quite bad. Nonetheless, the topography is flat. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are also not very convenient for walking since very few daily errands can be run without the use of a car.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is required in Rosslyn to reach the nearest grocery store. When it comes to education, there are only a few primary schools in this area and consequently they can be an extended walk away. Furthermore, Rosslyn does not have any high schools.

Character

It is relatively quiet in Rosslyn, since there are very few pedestrians.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Rosslyn are single detached homes and townhouses. This neighbourhood did not experience a single construction boom; the construction of new dwellings in the neighbourhood was spread throughout multiple decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century. This part of Thunder Bay is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Nearly 95% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 5% are rented.
