Part of the Greater Thunder Bay metropolitan area, East End is a neighbourhood within Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Transportation

Driving is often the favoured way to get around in this part of the city. It is very convenient to park. On the other hand, travelling by public transit is difficult in this part of the city. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. This part of the city is not very convenient for those who travel by foot since meeting daily needs is at times challenging by walking. In contrast, a fair number of people in the area use their bicycle as it is a flat ride to most locations.

Services

Parents and their children will welcome the proximity to daycares and primary schools, which are within walking distance from vast majority houses for sale in East End. On the other hand, this neighbourhood does not have any high schools. Concerning eating, a grocery store is typically reachable within an extended walk from any location in this area. In addition, there are a good number of choices in close proximity for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes.

Character

East End is reasonably quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case near the railway line.

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood happened prior to the 1960s.
