Mount Pleasant

Situated within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Mount Pleasant is a neighbourhood in Pickering, Ontario.

Transportation

The car is very often the favoured method of transportation in Mount Pleasant. It is very convenient to find a parking spot. This neighbourhood is not very amenable to cycling as there are a fair number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and there are few bike lanes. Getting around as a pedestrian is also not very practical for house buyers in Mount Pleasant since almost no day-to-day needs can be carried out without a vehicle.

Services

This neighbourhood does not have any high schools or primary schools. When it comes to eating, in all cases, a car is needed to do groceries.

Character

Mount Pleasant offers a calm ambience. Mount Pleasant is very quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Green spaces are sparse, which makes it very difficult to get to them from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

Roughly three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and one quarter are rented. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. Most housing in this neighbourhood was built after the year 2000, during its most significant construction boom. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
