Transportation

Regardless of the means of transportation, it is convenient to move around in Orleans Central. This neighbourhood is reasonably conducive to walking; many daily needs can be carried out by walking. Moving around by bicycle is also easy in Orleans Central. This part of the city features a fairly good public transit infrastructure as a result of about 20 nearby bus lines. This part of the city is also very car friendly. Most properties for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Regional Road 174, and coming across a place to park is quite easy.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to get to daycares and schools from any location in this part of Ottawa. Families have the choice between public and private elementary schools. With respect to eating, the closest grocery store in this area is typically only a short walk away. A limited variety of restaurants and cafes is available as well.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Orleans Central, as well as some areas with a vibrant feel. There are about 10 parks close by for residents to explore and they are especially well-distributed, making them very easy to reach. Finally, this part of the city remains relatively quiet, due to the presence of few people out and about on the streets; however there can be higher levels of noise for those who are around Regional Road 174.
