The neighbourhood of North Gower is part of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, which is located in the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in North Gower. It is very convenient to park. However, North Gower is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically a short walk away. North Gower is not very amenable to biking as the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and there are a fair number of hills to challenge cyclists. Walking is also not very feasible for home buyers in this part of Ottawa since many daily needs are very challenging to carry out without the use of a vehicle.

Services

Primary schools are not especially abundant in North Gower, and accordingly not always within walking distance, and there are no high schools. In addition, parents and their schoolchildren may consider it difficult to reach daycares as a pedestrian. Residents benefit from public and private primary schools. In terms of food, doing one's groceries very often necessitates the use of a car in North Gower.

Character

North Gower is good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some parts can be quite loud, especially around Highway 416 or the airport (Rideau Valley Air Park). Public green spaces are sparse, which makes them occasionally difficult to reach from the majority of locations in this neighbourhood. Despite that, there are approximately 20 parks close by for residents to unwind in, including Kars Recreation Centre and Alfred Taylor Recreation Facility - North Gower.
