College Park

College Park is a neighbourhood within Oakville, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a very good mode of transportation in this part of the town. It is easy to park, and the majority of properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway. On the other hand, commuting by public transit is challenging in College Park. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Traveling as a pedestrian in this part of Oakville is not very popular, despite the fact that many day-to-day needs can be carried out without a vehicle. On the other hand, the bicycle is a reasonably good mode of transportation in College Park because there are a fair number of bike lanes.

Services

Home buyers in this part of the town typically have to rely on a vehicle to access the nearest grocery store. Nevertheless, reaching the closest pharmacy and accordingly some basic food items is generally straightforward. A small number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. With respect to education, both primary and secondary schools are very easy to access without needing to get in a car from most homes for sale in College Park. Families are served by public and private elementary schools. In contrast, daycares are not particularly plentiful and thus not always within a short distance.

Character

College Park is a good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. This part of the town is quiet overall, as the streets are usually calm. Finally, there are about 40 public green spaces close by for residents to relax in, like White Oaks Secondary School South Campus and Oakville Park, and they are very well-spread out, making it very easy to access them from most locations in the neighbourhood.

Housing

In College Park, around 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. About half of properties in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
