Transportation

Sheridan is amenable to bicycling. This part of Mississauga is also well-suited for people who like to get around as pedestrians; many common errands can be run without a vehicle. This neighbourhood is very car friendly. It is easy to park, and it is a rather short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, from anywhere in Sheridan. On the other hand, the transit system in this part of the city is somewhat poor. Thankfully, it is convenient to find a nearby rapid transit station, such as Erin Mills Pky / Fowler Dr, Erin Mills Pky South of Dundas St W and Erin Mills Pky / Leanne Blvd on the University Express, from the majority of properties in the neighbourhood. Property owners are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically around the corner.

Services

It is typically practical for house buyers in Sheridan to do groceries as pedestrians. There are also a limited number of options for those who value nearby restaurants and cafes. With respect to education, both primary and secondary schools are very easy to access without a car from anywhere in Sheridan. Families are served by public and private schools at both the primary and high school level. However, there are only a few daycares and accordingly they can be an extended trip away.

Character

The character of Sheridan is exemplified by its calm ambience. There are about 30 green spaces nearby for residents to check out, like Not Yet Named (P-314) *(SW of Stavebank and Qew) and Springbank Meadows, and they are very well-spread out, which makes them very easy to access. This part of Mississauga is also very good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are usually very peaceful around Queen Elizabeth Way.

Housing

In Sheridan, roughly 55% of dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings are the main alternative in the housing stock. This neighbourhood experienced its biggest construction boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available properties are from this era. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 70% of the units in the neighbourhood and 30% are rented.
