Located within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Nassagaweya is a neighbourhood in Milton, Ontario.

Transportation

Cars are a great transportation option in this neighbourhood. Parking is generally easy. Cycling is difficult in Nassagaweya since this neighbourhood is home to a quite bad bicycling infrastructure, and there are quite a few slopes. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of the town are located in areas that are also not very conducive to walking because almost no common errands can be run on foot.

Services

There are only a very small number of primary schools in Nassagaweya and thus they can be a very long walk away. Likewise, this neighbourhood does not have any high schools. Moreover, daycares are not numerous and accordingly tend to require a very long walk to get to. As far as food is concerned, home buyers in Nassagaweya almost always have to turn to a vehicle to do grocery shopping.

Character

Nassagaweya is reasonably quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case near Highway 401 or one of the railway lines. Parks are spread out sporadically, which makes it very hard to reach them from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood. Despite that, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to visit.

Housing

Single detached homes and row houses are the predominant housing type in Nassagaweya. Around one third of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of Milton is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Nearly 90% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 10% are rented.
