Chilligo

Situated within the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area, Chilligo is a neighbourhood in Cambridge, Ontario.

Transportation

Chilligo is very car friendly. Most of the street infrastructure is built for driving, and it is very convenient to access a parking spot. However, the public transit network in Chilligo is rather poor. Chilligo is bicycling-friendly because much of the area is fairly flat. Chilligo is not very conducive to those who travel by foot since running daily errands is challenging.

Services

This area does not have any high schools or primary schools. Moreover, there are only a few daycares and therefore they can be a long walk away. As far as eating is concerned, purchasing one's groceries usually requires the use of a car in this neighbourhood.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Chilligo. Although Chilligo is not home to any green spaces, parks are badly-situated in nearby neighbourhoods, which results in them being easy to reach from a large number of locations within the neighbourhood. It remains relatively calm in this part of Cambridge, as there are very few pedestrians.

Housing

In Chilligo, around one quarter of dwellings are townhouses, but single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. Roughly 40% of properties in this part of the city were constructed after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
