Glenburnie

Glenburnie is a neighbourhood within Kingston, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Kingston metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent mode of transportation in Glenburnie. It is very easy to come across a parking spot. It is difficult to get around by bike in Glenburnie since the area is not particularly flat, and the bicycling network is not very extensive. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also not very convenient for walking because running daily errands is very impractical.

Services

There are only a very small number of primary schools in this part of Kingston and accordingly they can be a very long walk away. Likewise, Glenburnie does not have any high schools. Regarding food, purchasing one's groceries usually requires the use of a car in this part of Kingston.

Character

Glenburnie is good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Getting to green spaces, like Cecil & Wilma Graham Park and Edenwood Park, is occasionally difficult within the neighbourhood since they are sparse. Still, there are a few parks nearby for residents to visit.

Housing

Roughly 95% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this part of the city is an important part of its character. Roughly one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
