Trenholme

Part of the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area, Trenholme is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario.

Transportation

This area is amenable to bicycling. Trenholme is also reasonably conducive to people who prefer to get around on foot; many daily needs can be met without a car. Trenholme is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are commonly around the corner. On the other hand, the best method to move around in Trenholme is very often driving. Most homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Red Hill Valley Parkway, and finding a place to park is quite easy.

Services

It is very often possible for property owners in Trenholme to purchase groceries as pedestrians. A small number of restaurants and cafes are available as well. As far as education is concerned, primary schools are easy to get to by foot from most properties for sale in this area. In contrast, there are no high schools in Trenholme.

Character

Trenholme offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This part of the city is quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although there are still several noisier sections, especially near Red Hill Valley Parkway or Lincoln M Alexander Parkway. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing many buildings in Trenholme, and the rest of the properties are mainly small apartment buildings. This part of the city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. Around one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1980s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s.
